The preferred value of the Ethernet pointer. The preferred value is used by the core in negotiating a common rate with its peer. The value must be between 20 and 63 decimal, where 20 is the highest bandwidth, or 0 to indicate no Ethernet channel. To ensure correct operation it should be set before link initialization. Typically this is achieved by disabling the core through the line speed capability register. Defaults to 20 in non-ORI cores and to 53 in cores supporting ORI. |
