This section describes a simple example of a PFC implementation.
Consider the system illustrated in Figure 1 . The client logic connected to the Ethernet MAC on the left side is unable to service the data in the RX priority 0 FIFO for an extended period of time. Over time, the RX priority 0 FIFO illustrated fills and overflows. The aim is to implement a PFC method which applies back pressure on only the priority 0 traffic to ensure no frames are dropped while allowing the other priority queues to continue.
