The following table defines the signals output from the core by the Precise Timing Protocol (PTP) block in the Figure 1. These signals, present only when the AVB Endpoint is included in the TEMAC, are provided for reference only and can be used by an application.
Signal | Direction | Clock Domain | Description |
---|---|---|---|
rtc_nanosec_field | Out | gtx_clk | This is the synchronized nanoseconds field from the RTC. Updates to RTC Nanoseconds Field Offset register are reflected here. |
rtc_sec_field | Out | gtx_clk | This is the synchronized seconds fields from the RTC. Updates to RTC Seconds Field Offset register are not reflected here. |
clk8k | Out | gtx_clk | This is an 8 kHz clock, which is derived from and synchronized in frequency to the Real-Time Clock. The period of this clock, that is, 125 μs is useful in timing the SR class measurement intervals. |
rtc_nanosec_field_1722 | Out | gtx_clk | The IEEE1722 specification contains a different format for the Real-Time Clock provided here as an extra port. This is derived and is in sync with the IEEE802.1 AS Real-Time Clock. |
