In multi-SLR devices, the NoC is used to program/access across SLRs. Access to these paths are available to the user via the PMC[3:0]_alias address ranges as described in NoC Address Map in Versal Adaptive SoC Technical Reference Manual (AM011). The handling of these paths are mostly hidden, however the following should be considered:

  • For Exclusive Routing Groups, the existence of the boot paths can conflict with user exclusive routing groups. In multi-SLR devices, the number of possible achievable exclusive routing groups can be reduced by the NoC compiler to accommodate the boot path route. In general, the leftmost VNoC in multi-SLR devices will be used by the boot path and not available for exclusive routing groups.
  • For bandwidth/QoS, a small amount of bandwidth is allocated to the boot paths. Thus, a slight reduction in maximum achievable QoS solution can be seen on the paths shared with the hidden NoC boot paths. These routes are hidden, but they always use the same path through the NoC on a particular device.
