An NMU in AXI4-Stream mode can be configured to use one of two strategies to set the destination ID:
- Fixed DestID
- A configuration register in the NMU can be programmed to contain a single destination ID. When enabled, the programmed value specifies the destination for all stream packets originating from that NMU. This enables 1 to 1 and M to 1 connection topologies.
- Master defined DestID
- Logic in the PL region can optionally drive a logical destination ID onto the Destination Interface Pins (NMU_WR_USR_DST) pins of the NMU. This logical destination ID is then mapped to a NoC compiler assigned DestID when Validate Design is run, and it is used to route the stream through the NoC. This enables M to N connection topologies.
