The receive MAC I/F allows the user logic to directly drive the time-sliced MAC receive datapath. The interface is time-sliced and is composed of 24 x 66-bit blocks supporting up to 600 Gb/s bandwidth for up to 40 channels. In this operating mode, the PCS decode function is included in the DCMAC receive datapath.

In the user logic, you can use the RX MAC I/F as an entry point into a multi-channel MAC that outputs packets on the channelized RX AXI4-Stream interface. In a client monitoring application, the user logic might choose to ignore the packets on the AXI4-Stream interface and focus entirely on statistics gathered from the RX data stream.
