The DCMAC Configuration tab configures the DCMAC Subsystem mode.

Figure 1. DCMAC Configuration MAC Tab
Type of Configuration
Selects the DCMAC configuration to either Static or Dynamic Configuration.
System Configuration
Enables the DCMAC Operating Mode, and DCMAC Hard IP Site.
  • DCMAC Operating Mode: Coupled MAC+PHY mode provides fully integrated MAC and PHY logic. In this mode, data flows between AXI4-Stream and transceiver interfaces. Independent MAC and PCS+FEC mode provides a standalone MAC and a standalone PHY logic with multiple tap points including FEC only. The standalone MAC data flows between the AXI4-Stream and MAC interfaces. The standalone PHY data flows between the flex and transceiver interfaces.
MAC Configuration
Displays the DCMAC AXIS Datapath Interface and No of Clients for information.
  • AXIS Datapath Interface: 391MHz Upto 6 Ports interface is applicable for all six MAC ports, with each port AXIS data width of 256-bit. 195MHz Upto 3x100G Ports is the wide mode interface with three MAC ports enabled with each port AXIS data width of 512-bit. Channelized interface is applicable for the Independent MAC and PCS+FEC mode.
  • Number of Clients: For the Coupled MAC+PCS mode, it is not applicable. For the Independent MAC and PCS+FEC mode, the value 0 disables the MAC.
MAC Port0 to MAC Port5
Displays the MAC port enabled or disabled status. Based on the per port enabled status, the TX Flow Control, RX Flow Control, TX PCS Insert, RX PCS Strip, and IEEE 1588v2 of that port can be selected or deselected.

Default PCS Mode
The Default PCS Mode is the configuration after power-on-reset. It must be a legal DCMAC & GTM/GTYP configuration. Static Configurations have only a Default PCS Mode. The valid options of each port:

FEC Mode
Displays the respective FEC modes for each port selection in Default PCS Mode.
Other PCS Modes
The Other PCS Modes does not apply to static configuration. In dynamic configuration, Other PCS Modes is used to determine GT and clocking configuration. For each port’s column, select all valid configurations for that port. Column and row order does not impact configuration. It is simply a list of all possible configurations for each port.
  • If Port0 is with 400G configuration, valid values of Port1, Port2, and Port3 are NA.
  • If Port0 is with 200G configuration, valid value of Port1 is NA.
  • If Port2 is with 200G configuration, valid value of Port3 is NA.
  • If Port4 is with 200G configuration, valid value of Port5 is NA.
