In addition to configuration through the DCMAC Subsystem IP Wizard, the DCMAC Subsystem supports a software-based configuration. Some configuration registers (identified as Type RW ATTR) are persistent between resets, meaning that the attribute value of the configuration register does not change as the result of a reset. This allows the logic from the DCMAC Subsystem to be reset without having to follow the software configuration. When the device is reprogrammed, these DCMAC Subsystem configuration registers are overwritten with the values generated by the DCMAC Subsystem IP Wizard. Other configuration registers (identified as Type RW) are set to their default values after reset.
