This document describes how to use the SMPTE UHD-SDI core and the AMD UltraScale™ GTH transceivers to implement SDI interfaces compatible with the SMPTE SD-SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI, and 12G-SDI standards. The AMD UltraScale™ GTH device-specific control logic necessary to use the transceivers in SDI applications is included with this application note. Also included are two example SDI demonstration applications providing detailed examples of SDI implementations in a UltraScale FPGA design.
