This User Guide describes sfptpd (the Solarflare
Enhanced PTP Daemon), which is an implementation of the IEEE 1588‑2008 Precision Time
Protocol version 2.
Note: PTP version 2 is not
compatible with PTP version 1. They use different message sizes and format. Version 1
messages received by
sfptpd will be ignored.
