The Messages window (shown in the following figure) displays design and report messages, which are grouped to enable you to locate messages from different tools or processes. Messages display with a link to the relevant object or source file. To open the Messages window, select . You can use the check boxes in the banner of the Messages window to hide or display the errors, critical warnings, warnings, info, and status messages.
Note: If the location of a source file
changes, the Vivado IDE removes the link from related messages to
prevent confusion.
Tip: To see only one message type,
double-click the message type in the banner of the
Messages window. For example, double-click
errors to display only error messages. To get
the message count for critical warnings, use the
get_msg_config
-count -severity {CRITICAL WARNING}
