GT Quad IP can be shared between AMD IPs and custom IPs seamlessly using IP integrator features.

Perform the following steps to share a GT Quad between an Aurora IP for example, and a custom IP:

  1. Add Aurora64B66B IP using the Add IP option in the IP integrator canvas.
  2. Configure Aurora64B66B IP for number of lanes, line rates, and so on.
  3. Use Run_Block_Automation feature to connect the Aurora IP to GT Quad base IP. GT Quad is configured for Aurora IP configuration.
  4. To share the same Quad with custom IP, add the Bridge IP in IP integrator canvas.
  5. Configure the GT Bridge IP in pass through mode.
  6. Enter the GT Quad configuration corresponding to custom IP in the GT Bridge IP.
  7. Use Run_Block_Automation feature of the GT Bridge IP to assign custom IP lane locations and share the GT Quad with Aurora IP.
  8. Make all the essential ports of the GT Bridge IP external to the block design to interface with custom IP and create an HDL wrapper for the block design.
  9. Integrate the generated HDL wrapper with the custom IP for system design creation.

The following figure shows the snapshot of block design where Aurora IP and GT bridge IP share the GT Quad.
