After the interfaces you want are in the design, the next step is to instantiate a
processor (in case of an processor-based design) or an AXI interconnect if this happens
to be a non-embedded design to complete the design.
- To do this, right-click the canvas, and select Add IP.
From the IP catalog, choose the processor, such as MicroBlaze™ processor, shown in the following figure.
As the processor is instantiated, Designer Assistance becomes available, as shown in the following figure.
- Click Run Block
Automation to configure a basic processor sub-system. The
processor sub-system is created which includes commonly used IP in a sub-system
such as block memory controllers, block memory generator and a debug module.
Then you can use the Connection Automation feature to connect the rest of the IP in your design to the MicroBlaze processor by selecting Run Connection Automation. The following figure shows the Run Connection Automation dialog box.
The rest of the process is the same as needed for designing in IP Integrator as described in this document.
