Display protocols such as DisplayPort and HDMI require the receiver to extract the audio clock based on the relationship information transmitted by the source. The ACR unit uses this information to extract the sampling audio clock from the reference clock. The recovered sampling audio clock can then be used to generate clocks in the receiver. - PG335
