Common tar files are provided for Zynq® , Zynq® UltraScale+™ MPSoC, and Versal™ platforms. Each common TAR file contains a prebuilt Linux kernel and a root file system and can be used the respective Zynq, Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC, and Versal boards for embedded developers.
Copy these files to an SD flash card along with the platform specific boot image (BOOT.BIN) available from the Vitis™ IDE or from the board-specific PetaLinux BSP prebuilts. For more information, see the readme file inside the common tar.
Note: Installing PetaLinux tools is not
necessary to use the common images.
