Automatic retiming is available for post-place physical optimization. It can be
explicitly enabled using the phys_opt_design -retime option.
This optimization addresses small WNS violations remaining after place. It is most beneficial on timing-critical paths through combinational logic where datapath delay dominates the violation and adjacent pipeline stages are unbalanced.
