Specify the incremental compile flow during Vivado implementation to accommodate small design changes. Incremental compile reduces place-and-route runtimes and preserves existing implementation results, depending on change scope and timing-critical logic modifications.

Click Set Incremental Compile in the Implementation Settings dialog box or select Set Incremental Compile from the Design Runs window pop-up menu. You can also run the read_checkpoint Tcl command with the -incremental option, pointing to a routed design checkpoint to use as a reference. For more details, refer to the Vivado Design Suite User Guide: Implementation (UG904).
