You can package custom IP or block designs so they appear in the IP catalog for use in designs or the Vivado IP integrator. You can package IP from RTL source files, a Vivado IP integrator block design, or an entire Vivado project.

Click Tools > Settings to add the packaged IP location to the IP Repository section of the Settings dialog box. After adding the repository, the IP cores from the repository appear in the IP catalog.

Tip: Before packaging your IP HDL, validate its correctness by running simulation and synthesis.

You can configure IP in several ways and make it available within the Vivado IP catalog and IP integrator. The Create and Package IP wizard guides you step-by-step through IP packaging from a project, block design, or a specified directory. You can also create and package a new template AXI4 peripheral for use in embedded processor designs.

Important: Define the desired list of supported device families accurately when creating the custom IP definition, especially if you plan to use it with multiple families.
