When creating an embedded processor design, you use a slightly different tool flow. Because the embedded processor requires software to boot and operate effectively, the software and hardware design flows must work together. Data exchange between these flows and cross-domain validation are critical for success.

Use the Vivado IP integrator to create an embedded processor hardware design. In a Vivado IP integrator block design, instantiate, configure, and assemble the processor core and interfaces. The IP integrator enforces rules-based connectivity and offers design assistance. After compiling through implementation, export your hardware design to AMD Vitis™ for software development and validation. Simulation and debug features let you validate the design across hardware and software domains.

The Vitis Design Suite is AMD's unified software suite for embedded and accelerated applications. It supports development in higher-level languages, leverages open source libraries, and supports domain-specific development environments.
