Purpose: Byte-level validity mask. Each bit corresponds to one byte of the data element. A bit value of 1 means the corresponding byte carries meaningful data.

• Defaults to all 1s based on the data type's byte width.
• For 32-bit types (4 bytes), the default is 0xF (binary 1111).
• For 16-bit types (2 bytes), the default is 0x3 (binary 11).
