If getInputSpec() reports no input ports (a source / generator kernel), call kernel.setNumKernelRuns(n) (default 1) before run() to control how many top-level HLS invocations the simulator can schedule in a single run(). The value is read on each run(). It must be an integral ≥ 1.

If the kernel has input ports, setNumKernelRuns is ignored. Calling it with a value other than 1 in that case triggers a warning once, at the call site (not on every run()).
