Symptom Cause and Fix
"For complex integers use varray.cint32" / "For complex floats use varray.cfloat" / "For complex half use varray.chalf" / "For complex fixed-point use varray.cfi" You passed complex data to a real-only type. Use the matching varray.c* constructor.
"Complex bfloat8 is not supported." / "Complex float8 is not supported." FP8 types are real only. No complex counterpart exists.
"\"plus\" is not supported for varrays. Use MATLAB cast() to convert…" Arithmetic is not supported. Cast to a MATLAB type (for example, int32(a) + int32(b)) and re-wrap if needed.
"Complex Mx9 is not supported." (or Mx4/Mx6) MX types are real-valued only.
"For MX data types, the number of elements must be a multiple of 16." MX array length must be a multiple of 16 (the block size).
"The indices must be slices each with multiple of 16 consecutive elements." Slicing an mx4/mx6/mx9 outside full 16-element blocks. Select whole blocks.
"The starting index must be one more than a multiple of 16." An MX slice starts in the middle of a block. Remember that MATLAB is 1-indexed: 1:16, 17:32, and so on.
"max()/min() is not supported for the data type …" mx4/mx6/mx9 and int4/uint4 are excluded. Cast first, for example, max(single(data)).
"For fixed-point varray, transpose is only supported for row or column vectors." Reshape to a vector before transposing, or transpose the native MATLAB representation.
"Brace indexing is not supported for variables of this type." Use () indexing on a varray. {} is reserved for cell arrays.
