The AMD Vitis™ Unified Software Platform consists of an integrated design environment (IDE) for interactive project development, and command-line tools for scripted or manual application development.

To install and run on a PC, your system must meet the following minimum requirements.

  1. Acceleration Development and Deployment includes AI Engine development, Vitis linking and packaging for Alveo and embedded devices, and Alveo deployment with XRT.
  2. Alveo deployment with XRT is sensitive to Linux kernel versions:
    1. The tested Linux kernel versions are provided for reference for Alveo deployment supported OS.
    2. All supported operating systems are tested with general access versions (GA).
    3. Ubuntu Hardware Enablement (HWE) is not supported. By default, HWE is disabled by Ubuntu Server versions and enabled by Desktop versions. It is possible for Ubuntu Live Patch Service to apply kernel patches automatically. XRT is not tested against live patches.
  3. XRT can be used in the KVM virtualization environment as the guest with all the operating systems listed in the previous table.
