You can instead use the AMD-supplied amdsfboot utility to manage configuration:

• The sfc net driver must be loaded.
• You must be logged in as root or have sudo permission.
• Pathnames you give for configuration files are relative to the /usr/lib/firmware directory.

The amdsfboot utility is supplied within the AMD Solarflare X4 Utilities package.
