The XRF4 RF accessory kit includes the XRF4 radio frequency (RF) baseboard (XRF4- RFBB) and the XRF4 RF slices for transmit (TX), receive (RX), and feedback (FB) processing. The XRF4-RFBB board enables streamlined RF front-end development with the AMD Zynq™ RFSoC/RFSoC-DFE products. This board expands the digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and analog-to-digital converter (ADC) signals to nine connectors, also referred to as RF slice connectors. It also provides DC power, digital control in the form of inter-integrated circuit protocol (I2C), serial peripheral interface (SPI), general purpose I/Os (GPIOs), and time division duplex (TDD) control to these RF slice connectors. The RF slice connectors streamline the development of the RF front-end boards, or RF slices, for various applications including, but not limited to 5G, military, SATCOM, and instrumentation. The AMD Kria™ K26 system-on-module (SOM) acts as the RF controller for the XRF4 baseboard. An onboard physical-side interface (PHY) allows the RF controller to be configured and commanded through the Ethernet.
