This chapter demonstrates how to achieve very low latency coupled with minimum jitter on a system fitted with an X4 series network adapter and using the OpenOnload kernel-bypass network acceleration middleware.
The procedure focuses on the performance of the network adapter for TCP and UDP applications running on Linux, using the AMD supplied open source eflatency, zfudppingpong, zftcppingpong, and sfnettest network benchmark test tools.
The results of these tests can be found in Latency Test Results, and Latency against Payload.
Important: Read the supplied ONLOAD_LICENSE file regarding the disclosure of
performance test results. See also AMD Legal Claim numbers 9xx5‑252, 9xx5‑253.
