This chapter describes the PDM tool project setup and creation including device selection and environment settings on the Summary page. Using Power Design Manager describes new project creation and also various ways of resource entry on other pages of the tool.
After the project is created in PDM, the Summary page is displayed by default. This page plays an essential role in effective power estimation of AMD Versal™ , AMD UltraScale+™ and AMD Kria™ SOM devices. The Summary page provides the following:
- Device setup, which includes device selection and thermal settings.
- IP block management.
- A dashboard, which includes a summary of estimated Total On-Chip Power, Junction Temperature, Thermal Margin, and On-Chip Power broken down by resource types.
