Occasionally an X3522 card might be left in an inoperable state by a failed programming operation. Possible causes include an interruption to the programming, or a failure to perform a full cold reboot after programming.
In such cases you can recover the card using the Vivado hardware manager and the Alveo Debug Kit (ADK).
Recommended: Programming through the ADK must be from a
separate machine to avoid PCIe download link
causing the server to reboot during programming. Alternatively, the PCIe link can be manually disabled through software and
rescanned after programming is complete.
These instructions assume that you are using a separate machine to do the programming, referred to as the Vivado host.
Packages required for recovery are available only from the X3522 conversion website (see NIC to PV Conversion Website).
CAUTION:
Using this
procedure to recover a card that was manufactured as an X3522PV adaptable accelerator card is not supported. It might result
in a card that is inoperable, and might void your warranty.
