Terminating a Backend Process - 2025.2 English - UG1400

In some situations, backend processes can take too long without producing any results or can encounter issues. In these situations, it can be useful to terminate the process that is stuck.

There is a progress bar at the bottom left corner of the Vitis Unified IDE that displays the progress of the current process running. To terminate a backend process, first locate the process that is running on the bottom left section of the Vitis Unified IDE.

Click the 'x' button in the background task bar to terminate the task

There are a number of processes that can be terminated:

  • Building a component
  • Creating a component
  • Emulation
  • Flash programming
  • Updating the BSP
  • Run, debug and XSDB
  • Programming a device
