AI Assistance in the Vitis Unified IDE - AI Assistance in the Vitis Unified IDE - 2026.1 English - UG1400

Vitis Unified IDE includes AI Chat for AI-assisted workflows. AI Chat provides a conversational entry point inside the IDE so you can access guidance without leaving your development environment.

You can use AI Chat to do the following tasks.

1. Ask documentation questions.
2. Understand source code and IDE-generated output.
3. Troubleshoot build errors.
4. Get guidance for project configuration changes.
5. Speed migration triage from Vitis Classic IDE to Vitis Unified IDE.

AI Chat provides guidance only. It does not replace official documentation, established design practices, or user validation.

To start using AI Chat:

1. Open Settings.
2. Enter AI in the Settings search field.
3. In the filtered Settings results, open the AI-related settings section.
4. Enter the provider API key.
5. Select the provider and model, if those options are available in your build.
6. Open View > AI Chat.

If your build provides multiple assistants, type @ in AI Chat to view the available options and select one that matches your task.

Before you use any AI-generated result:

1. Review the response.
2. Confirm that the recommendation matches your design intent.
3. Verify file changes before applying them.
4. Rebuild, rerun, or retest as needed.

AMD does not host or validate third-party AI services or models. Third-party providers own model behavior, response quality, account access, billing, and service uptime. You are responsible for data-sharing decisions, compliance requirements, and validation of all AI-provided information before you use it.
