Run the report_power command on an implemented
design with the power constraints applied to the design to validate the initial power
estimation and thermal design. The report_power command
also shows margin based on the constraints, ensuring design power is kept within budget.
Ensure to include report_power when exploring multiple
runs with different strategies, directives, and options for timing closure. This allows
you to choose the lowest power from multiple runs that meet timing. For more information

Power Tip: If your design exceeds the
power constraints, a quick way to run a “what if” analysis is to export the results to
the Power Design Manager (PDM) tool and make
adjustments to see the impact on power.
