Every system configuration that is supported by AMD includes PMU firmware in addition to the functions of power-up and sleep management. The PMU can execute user programs that implement advanced system monitoring and power management algorithms. In this mode, an application or a real-time processor copies the power management program into the PMU internal RAM through an inbound LPD switch. The PMU executes software that implements the required reset, power management, system monitoring, and interrupt controls within all AMD supported system configurations.
