Before creating an application, you must create a platform. Follow these steps to create a platform:

1. Navigate to File > New Component > Platform.
2. Enter the Component (platform) Name and click Next.
3. Select the Hardware Design (XSA) and click Next.
4. Choose the Operating System, Processor and Architecture.
   1. From the CPU drop-down list, select the Processor for which you want to build the application.
   2. In multi-processor designs, you can select one of the following:
      • psu_cortexa53_0 (APU)
      • psu_cortexr5_0 (RPU)
   3. Specify the Architecture (32-bit or 64-bit)
   4. Click Next and then Finish.
5. The platform is created.
