Before creating an application, you must create a platform. Follow these steps to create a platform:

1. Navigate to File > New Component > Platform.
2. Enter the Component (platform) Name and click Next.
3. Select the Hardware Design (XSA) and click Next.
4. Select the Operating System, Processor, and Architecture.
   1. From the CPU list, select the processor for which you want to build the application.
   2. In multi-processor designs, you can select one of the following:
      • psu_cortexa53_0 (APU)
      • psu_cortexr5_0 (RPU)
   3. Specify the Architecture (32-bit or 64-bit).
   4. Click Next and click Finish.
5. The platform is created.
