The 1x16 single-channel configuration supports three pinout options for both single
rank and dual rank. The following figures cover both rank configurations in a single
set of diagrams. One of the differences between ranks is the CS signal count —
CS[0] for single rank, CS[1:0] for dual
rank.
CS[1:0] with
CS[0].Packed to the Left
Packs signals in HB0/Bank x (data, four octads) with CA[6:1]
distributed across the data octads, plus the Most Significant Octad of HB1/Bank x+1
(CA[0]/CS/CK/reset_n) and SYS_CLK placed at
HB1/Bank x+1 Octad 0 (Least Significant Octad). HB0/Bank x+2 is entirely free. This
is the default pinout.
Packed to the Right
Packs signals in HB0/Bank x+2 (data and SYS_CLK, four octads) with
CA[6:3] distributed across the data octads, plus the Least
Significant Octad of HB1/Bank x+1 (CA[2:0]/CS/CK/reset_n). HB0/Bank
x is entirely free.
Channel Expansion
Enables future expansion from 1x16 to 2x16 without moving Channel 0 pin assignments. Channel 1 (CH-B) signals occupy HB0/Bank x and Octads 0, 1, and 2 of HB1/Bank x+1. The remaining pins are pre-arranged for Channel 0 (CH-A): HB0/Bank x+2 holds Channel 0 data. The octads labeled [CH-B] are unused in 1x16 mode and become active only when the interface is upgraded to 2x16.
