The Ethernet Offload Engine IP reduces the burden on a Linux-based Ethernet stack by offloading certain tasks to the PL, which accelerates the software stack to process more packets resulting in higher performance. For transmit flows, the IP receives input data stream from AXI MCDMA IP via AXI4-Stream along with the control stream to perform offload features for the downstream Ethernet MAC. On the receive side, the data from Ethernet MAC is received on an AXI4-Stream where checksum validation and GRO is performed on the suitable packets. The output packets are then sent out to MCDMA along with a status interface.
