The encoder block of the VCU2 core is a video encoder engine for processing video streams using the H.265 (ISO/IEC 23008-2 high-efficiency video coding) and H.264 (ISO/IEC 14496-10 advanced video coding) standards. It provides complete support for these standards, including support for 8-bit 10-bit, and 12-bit color depth, 4:4:4, 4:2:2, 4:2:0, and 4:0:0 chroma formats and up to 4K UHD at 60 fps performance. 8K is supported at 15 fps.
