The HDMI 2.1 RX Subsystem supports CTA 861-H (https://cta.tech/) Dynamic HDR metadata info frame and HDR10+ VSIF (https://hdr10plus.org/). You can configure Dynamic HDR support in the Vivado IDE. To enable or disable Dynamic HDR support, select the Dynamic HDR support check box. When you enable Dynamic HDR support, a separate memory mapped AXI4 interface (M_HDR_AXI) is added to the IP. The memory mapped interface runs on m_hdr_axi_clock.

The HDMI 2.1 RX Subsystem supports the following Dynamic HDR features:

  • Dynamic HDR metadata length up to 65535 bytes
  • Support for CTA 861-H dynamic HDR info frames
  • HDR10+ VSIF Support
  • HDR-VIVID VS-EMDS Support
Note:
  1. The GOF info frame is parsed inside the hardware, and the GOF value updates in the IP registers. This value can be read via the software.
  2. Only Dynamic HDR info frames are stored in the memory using a memory mapped AXI4 interface. The static HDR info frames are sent to software as a generic AUX packet. See AUX Packets for details.
  3. When Dynamic HDR is not enabled in the hardware, Dynamic HDR packets are sent to software as generic AUX packets.
