Packet Mode occurs when a packet with a certain channel number is transferred in its entirety across the TX LBUS without interruption by a packet belonging to a different channel. The SOP data is transferred on a segment when the corresponding tx_sopin<N> is asserted. The final data belonging to the packet is transferred on a segment when the corresponding tx_eopin<N> is asserted.

Unless tx_bctlin<N> is asserted (see Use of tx_bctlin), the size of all bursts (except the last) on the Interlaken interface will match the value specified by the ctl_tx_burstmax configuration input. The last burst containing data for a given packet will have a size that is between the range of values specified by the ctl_tx_burstshort and ctl_tx_burstmax configuration inputs.
