- For PL-only parts, use the valid range of addresses (0 to LFA-2) to inject errors.
- For parts that have PS and PL, it is recommended to use linear frame addresses larger than 2/3 × Max Linear Frame as general guidance in selection of an address which maps to physically implemented configuration memory.
- Injection can also be done on ECC words, except when they do not exist (dummy frames) or are masked. Sometimes, there are scenarios when certain addresses can fail even if you inject into the injectable range. It is difficult to investigate or debug as this is related to the internal structure of the device and involves bit-tracking, which is confidential and unsupported. In such cases, try injecting into another address. The ability to inject an error into another address space validates the functioning of the SEM IP.
