Simulations might appear to run slowly under some circumstances. If a simulation is
unacceptably slow, the following suggestions might improve the runtime
performance.
- Use a faster computer with more memory.
- Make use of a Platform LSF (Load Sharing Facility) if available in your organization.
- Bypass the AMD transceiver (this might require that you create your own test bench).
- Send fewer packets.
- Specify a shorter metaframe length. This should result in a shorter lane alignment phase, at the expense of more overhead. However, when the Interlaken IP core is finally implemented in a system, the metaframe length should follow the specification recommendations. This can be done by setting SIM_SPEED_UP, see Simulation Speed Up.
