The retransmission protocol does not specify what should happen during a loss of
alignment and there is no obvious action the RX should take in such an event. Therefore,
RX treats this as a fatal error if the output STAT_RX_ALIGNED_ERR is
connected to the input CTL_RX_RETRANS_ERRIN. Otherwise loss of
alignment is treated as a CRC24 error.
