The Versal adaptive SoC's flexibility allows for many ways to implement cryptographic functions. One option is to take advantage of the Arm® v8 Cryptography Extensions in the APU MPCore and custom cryptographic accelerators running in the programmable logic (PL). Additionally, the hardened cryptographic accelerators are available for use post-boot. AMD recommends using the ASU for post-boot cryptographic operations. See the ASU Subsystem chapter.
