Versal devices are footprint compatible only with other Versal devices that share the same package number and preceding single-letter designator. For example, the VM1802-VSVD1760 is footprint compatible with the VC1902-VSVD1760, because both have D1760. It is not footprint compatible with the VM1802-VFVC1760. Also, the VC1502-VSVA1596 is footprint compatible with the VC1902-VIVA1596, despite differing package dimensions, both share the A1596 designator. In the ASCII package files, connected pins are designated; unconnected pins are labeled NC.
The following table shows the footprint compatible devices available for each package. Refer to the Versal Architecture and Product Data Sheet: Overview (DS950) for specific package letter code options. All packages are available with eutectic-SnPb BGA balls. For these packages, the device type is XQ and the Pb-free signifier in the package name is a Q.

Many footprint-compatible Versal devices in a package have different I/O bank and transceiver quad/dual numbers connected to the same package pins. When migrating devices in a package, consider the type of bank (HD/XP/X5) or quad/dual (GTY/GTYP/GTM), bank connection versus NC, and location on the die.
The following tables show bank and transceiver numbering across devices in each package. In each grouped footprint-compatible packages, entries in the same lettered column (A–Z) connect to the same package pins. For example, in VSVA2785, quad 207 for the VP1502 and VP1552 matches the pins used by quad 206 for the VP1102, VP1202, and VP1402. For a visual summary, refer to Figure 1.
