All SoCs include the platform management controller (PMC). The PMC is responsible for boot, configuration, partial-reconfiguration, and other platform management tasks, such as security. The PMC includes the deeply embedded ROM (BootROM) code unit (RCU) for device boot and a platform processing unit (PPU) that executes the platform loader and manager (PLM) firmware.
The PLM also manages the processing system management (PSM) controller including firmware downloads and management coordination.
Details of the PMC functional units are described in the Platform Boot, Control, and Status section.
