Mitigation

ARM has submitted a patch to the Linux Kernel designed to protect Cortex-A72 prior to r1p0. ARM considers the risk of practical exploitation to be very low, so the mitigation will be turned off by default.

However, it can be enabled in the kernel. For more information, see the patch here.

ARM recommends that users consider making use of these work-arounds in other operating systems, firmware and hypervisors in response to Spectre-BSE.
