This section outlines several restrictions that must be considered when performing AI Engine partition reloading:

  • Partitions are column-based. Resources within a partition cannot be used by another partition, which might result in diminished performance levels.
  • Ensure that the Programmable Logic (PL) does not send data to the AI Engine partition via AXIS during the reloading process.
  • The PL should not send data to the AI Engine through the AXI Memory Map interface while reloading AI Engine partitions.
  • The Processing System (PS) must not interact with other AI Engine partitions during the partition reloading process.
  • AI Engine partition reloading only focuses on reloading the specific partition; users are responsible for system error recovery.
  • Vitis Analyzer displays summary or trace data for a single partition at a time. Resources used for event-trace are restricted to each respective partition. When the designs run on hardware, event-trace can be enabled for all partitions simultaneously.
  • Baremetal support is limited and early access.
  • Trace and profiling are not supported when a hardware context is used in the host code.
