If the memory channel performance is not the cause of the NoC performance issues, the next inspection point is the NoC agent. The NoC agent is the front end to the DDR/HBM memory controllers, or in the case of block RAM, the front end to a PL NSU. If the NoC agent reports lower than expected bandwidth, one of the following situations is likely the cause:
- The upstream master or masters are artificially limiting.
You must measure master performance to determine if this is the cause.
- The site is incurring high coincident traffic.
One way to address this issue is to use exclusive routing groups.
